Konsument Europa is Hiring a Legal Advisor
Konsument Europa is part of the Swedish Consumer Agency and the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC), which has offices in 29 European countries.
Our main mission is to provide legal advice and mediate between consumers and businesses when problems arise in cross-border trade.
About the Job
As a legal advisor at Konsument Europa, you will respond to consumer inquiries and handle cases. The job involves daily contact with consumers, businesses, and our sister offices in Europe. English is the working language within the European network that Konsument Europa is part of. Your main tasks will include:
- Providing legal advice to consumers based on appropriate legislation, primarily in writing but sometimes also by phone.
- Assisting consumers with mediation when they have made cross-border purchases within the EU.
- Handling cases and communicating with businesses and sister offices in Europe.
- Collaborating with other units within the Swedish Consumer Agency.
- Monitoring the external environment, managing media contacts, and participating in development work may also be part of your duties.
Are You the One We Are Looking For?
You have a relevant university degree in law and an excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both English and Swedish. You have experience in legal advice and case management. It is also an advantage if you have good knowledge of consumer issues and consumer law within the EU.
We expect you to have commitment and a desire to solve problems. You want to help others and have a pronounced service mindset. You are very good at collaborating but can also work independently. You are efficient, structured, take responsibility, and drive your tasks forward with good judgment. You have a good ability to absorb new knowledge and adapt to new tasks, and you communicate well both in writing and verbally.
Our Workplace
We trust each other's abilities. We learn and develop together in a humble and caring work environment. You are welcome to try new approaches in your work.
Our values of courage, utility, and care are important to us. We value our diversity, which enriches our operations. If you want to work in an agency where we collectively take responsibility for operations, development, and collaboration – then you will thrive with us!
We have flexible working hours, and depending on the operational conditions, you have the opportunity to work partially remotely. You will receive a well-thought-out introduction and have good opportunities for professional development. Of course, we offer wellness time and wellness benefits.
About the Employment
This is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. The work location is Karlstad. Start date is negotiable. Travel for work may occur.
